Beehive Cheese - Barely Buzzed

Photo from: beehivecheese.com

Lavender Hill loves LOCAL businesses that sell great products.  Beehive Cheese is one of those local businesses.  We especially love their "Barely Buzzed" cheese.  It has LAVENDER in it's rub. When eating this cheese, I like to cut it into long slivers; this way you can get a little rub on every piece. It is soft, but not so soft that it sticks to your teeth.  The espresso bean/lavender rub infuses the cheese with a rich original taste that is perfect with apples.  I like the bitterness of the coffee with the sweet of the fruit.  Anyhow, you will LOVE it.
They are located just off of Hwy 89 behind the Best Western in Uinta. 2440 East 6600 South # 8 Uinta, Utah 84405 to be exact.

Pictures from the Open House

Here are a few pictures from the Open House at the Bookery.  Our new display, A strawberry cream crepe made by Jen at Grounds for Coffee, Lavender Lemonade and wonderful local supporting customers. If you didn't come over, you missed some GOOD food.

Local First Utah

Lavender Hill is now part of Local First Utah.
Did you know that if you spend $100 at a locally owned store, $45 of that stays in the LOCAL economy.
Local First Utah, the non-profit organization devoted to strengthening Utah’s economy by promoting, preserving, and protecting local, independently-owned businesses statewide.

We have a listing, but I still need to email them our logo and get some pictures in the photo gallery, but we are there and we are supporting.

THANKS FOR BUYING LOCAL!

SLC Art and Craft Farmers Market

Out of 210 vendor applications 80 were chosen to be in the SLC Farmers Market.  Lavender Hill was one of the 80.  YAY!  We will see you in Salt Lake City.  Be sure to check our calendar at the bottom of the page.  There are a few Saturdays that we will be at the Ogden 25th Street Market or a festival (Raspberry Days, Balloon Festival).

Kottage Kupboard

Kottage Kupboard April 2010

The weather was in our favor this week.  It only snowed a little.  Below is a link to the Kottage Kupboard site and a little about their events.  We will be attending their "Corn Stalks and Pumpkins" and "Candy Cane Lane" shows.  It was so busy that I didn't get many photos. Maybe next time.

http://kottagekupboard.com/The%20Kottage%20Kupboard/main.html

For over 20 years, the Kottage Kupboard has been bringing the best handcrafted gifts, home, & seasonal decor to Northern Utah. We open our doors three weeks a year, in May, October, & November and then head outdoors in June for our new "Summer Daze" show. As always, our shows are located at the Golden Spike Event Center (Weber County Fairgrounds) in Ogden, UT.

Our indoor shows have over 100 booths of the finest handcrafted items from artisans all around the inter mountain region. For our outdoor show we've changed it up a bit and added some new & unique products to go along with our quality handcrafted items. All of our vendors are juried & selected based on a combination of quality, uniqueness, creativity & booth display. This allows us to offer a great variety of unique, quality items all in one location.

A Link to Zions Bank

Zions Bank posted this article on their site and I thought that I would share.  It talks a little about the Women's Financial Department and a little about the Smart Women's Grants.
Lavender Hill was a grant winner for Small Business Start Up in 2009.
